Explosion in Cherkasy leaves one dead

An explosion in Cherkasy on Saturday evening left one person dead, with police currently investigating the circumstances of the incident.

According to the Cherkasy Regional Police, the blast occurred at around 20:30 on March 14.

Preliminary information indicates that one person was killed.

Investigators, bomb disposal experts, a forensic laboratory and other emergency services are working at the scene.

Authorities are establishing the circumstances of the explosion and the identity of the deceased. A legal classification of the incident will be determined once the investigation progresses.

Earlier, on March 3, a man was killed and his wife injured in Kharkiv after an unidentified object detonated near the entrance of an apartment building.
