Body of second miner killed in Kirovohrad region incident recovered

The body of the second miner who was killed as a result of a pulp breakthrough at the Inhulskа mine in the Kirovohrad region has been found.

Andrii Raikovych, head of the Kirovohrad Regional Military Administration, said this in a post on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

"The body of the second miner who became trapped due to the pulp leak on November 12 has been located. After lengthy and extremely difficult operations, the body has been freed and is now being brought to the surface," the report said.

An emergency occurred on November 11 at the Inhulskа mine of the state-owned Eastern Mining and Processing Plant (SkhidGZK) – a breakthrough of hydraulic backfill mixture caused flooding on one of the underground levels.

Two workers who were initially swept away by the flow managed to escape the danger zone on their own and reach the surface. Two other workers remained missing. On November 17, the body of one of the missing miners was found.
