Ukrainian rescuers retrieve bodies of 12 dead from rubble in Turkey

Ukrainian rescuers in Turkey, which was struck by a powerful earthquake, dismantled the rubble at 94 sites and retrieved the bodies of 12 dead people.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine said this in a Facebook post, Ukrinform reports.

"Since the beginning of the work, search and rescue teams of the combined detachment of the State Emergency Service have inspected 224 destroyed buildings and structures, dismantled the rubble at 94 sites, provided medical aid to 4 people, retrieved the bodies of 12 dead people," the report says.

The State Emergency Service noted that the coordination center has determined new sectors for Ukrainian rescuers, where they will work using the full range of modern equipment that they brought with them.

As Ukrinform reported, the death toll from the devastating earthquakes in Turkey and Syria has exceeded 29,110 people.
