Almost 100 towns and villages in Ukraine left without electricity due to thunderstorm

Bad weather conditions have left 99 towns and villages in eight regions of Ukraine without electricity, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reports.

"As of 7 a.m. on July 22, bad weather conditions (gusts of wind, rain, and thunderstorm) caused blackouts in 99 settlements in eight regions, in particular: Donetsk region – 29, Odesa region – 23, Kirovohrad region – 16, Cherkasy region – 14, Kyiv region – 5, Mykolaiv region – 5, Dnipropetrovsk region – 4, and Luhansk region – 3," the report reads.

Emergency teams of regional power distribution companies have been involved in the restoration of power supply.

As Ukrinform reported, rain and thunderstorm are expected in Ukraine on July 22.
