Three students from Khmelnytsky region lost way on Hoverla mountain

Transcarpathian rescuers were searching for several hours the mountains where the three students from the Khmelnitsky region lost their way due to inclement weather conditions last Sunday.

The press service of the emergencies office of Ukraine in the Transcarpathian region  reports.

"On October 11, at 18.20 the operative-rescue service of the Transcarpathia region was reported that in the area of the ​​Rakhiv district near the mountain of Hoverla three students from Khmelnitsky region lost their way. As it turned out, a 15-year-old man and a 15 and 16 year old girls hiked the mountain in a group of 15 people," the statement says.

Experts from the mountain search and rescue department in the village of Lazeschyna have sought for teeangers for eight hours in the evening. On the Hoverla mountain, because of the fog and wet snowfall the group lost direction and was divided. In particular, nine people returned to the assembly point at the sports camp of Zaroslyak. Three others from the Ivano-Frankivsk region were found by rescuers in the mountain valley of Kozmeska. And the two girls and a young man, who got lost, walked to the Tihovets valley.

As students did not need medical assistance, they were sent to the railroad station in the village of Lazeshchyna to board a diesel train on the Rakhiv-Kolomyia route.
