Continuation of ‘National Cashback’ program after June 30 depends on three factors

Exclusive

June 30 is not a fixed termination date for the National Cashback program. Whether it is extended will depend on demand, performance, and available budgetary resources.

Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture Vitalii Kindrativ stated this in an interview with Ukrinform.

“This date refers to the deadline for using funds already credited to special accounts. In other words, it is a technical cut-off for cashback usage, not the termination of the program. Further decisions on extension or adjustment will be made based on demand, performance, and budgetary resources,” Kindrativ explained.

He noted that the program’s funding volumes may be revised and adjusted throughout the year depending on actual usage.

According to the Deputy Minister, purchases of Ukrainian goods registered under the program have increased by approximately 10%. In certain categories, such as dairy products and confectionery, the shift in demand from imported to domestic goods reaches 12%.

“Cashback funds are spent within the country, supporting legitimate domestic businesses, encouraging the growth of cashless payments, and boosting tax revenues. This is precisely the intended effect of behavioral economics—small but regular incentives gradually reshape consumer habits and foster a new consumption model,” Kindrativ added.

As reported earlier, about 4.4 million Ukrainians receive payments under the National Cashback program each month. As of the end of March, total disbursements had reached UAH 6.7 billion.
