Ukraine presented 26 organic exporters at BIOFACH 2026 in Germany

At the international BIOFACH 2026 trade fair in Nuremberg, Germany, Ukraine showcased its National Pavilion, where 26 companies highlighted the export potential of the country’s organic sector.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture.

The pavilion brought together producers from across Ukraine, presenting both organic raw materials and value‑added processed products. Exhibits included berries and fruits (frozen, dried, freeze‑dried), nuts, seeds, honey, grains, juices, purée concentrates, oils, snacks, sweets, and other goods.

Over four days, Ukrainian exporters engaged with more than 1,250 visitors and held over 250 B2B meetings with potential partners from the EU, North America, and Asia. Negotiations resulted in preliminary agreements with traders, processors, distributors, and retail chains, with some discussions advancing to supply terms.

During a thematic session on the development of the organic sector in Central and Eastern Europe, the Ukrainian delegation reported on the industry’s recovery. Valentyna Liashenko, an expert from the State Institution “Entrepreneurship and Export Promotion Office,” noted that by the end of 2024, 261 operators were registered in Ukraine’s organic market.

She emphasized that more than 90% of Ukrainian organic products are exported. In 2024, Ukraine ranked third among 125 countries supplying organic products to the EU, accounting for nearly 8% of total EU imports. Export volumes rose by 17.5% year‑on‑year, reaching 243,000 tonnes (+23% compared to 2023), with a total export value of USD 141 million. The largest importers were the Netherlands (31%), Germany (25%), Austria (12%), Switzerland (6%), and Italy (6%).

Currently, Ukrainian organic products are supplied to 31 countries worldwide, with the European Union remaining the key market.

BIOFACH 2026, held on February 10–13 in Nuremberg, attracted more than 35,000 visitors from around 140 countries, reaffirming its role as the leading global meeting point for the organic value chain.
