Ukrainian enterprises receive first permits to export weapons – Umerov

Ukrainian enterprises have received their first permits to export controlled goods from the defense-industrial sector.

According to Ukrinform, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov stated this on Telegram.

Umerov noted that controlled arms exports are about ensuring state security and developing Ukraine's defense-industrial complex, opening the way to new security alliances and expanded international partnerships.

"The President of Ukraine set the task of opening exports of Ukrainian weapons in a controlled format. We are fulfilling it. The Interagency Commission on Military-Technical Cooperation Policy and Export Control has resumed its work and held its first meeting in eight months," Umerov said.

Following the meeting, Ukrainian enterprises received their first permits to export controlled goods. Umerov emphasized that all decisions are made under state control and with the unconditional priority given to the needs of the Defense Forces.

"Today, the production capacity of Ukraine's defense-industrial complex exceeds $55 billion. In the areas of UAVs, electronic warfare, and reconnaissance, our capabilities already surpass the volume of domestic procurement. Coordinated exports make it possible to attract investment, scale up production, and launch new technologies for the Ukrainian army," Umerov stressed.

He expressed confidence that Ukraine's defense industry has proven its effectiveness during the war.

"Now our task is to turn this experience into long-term industrial strength and make it part of shared security with our partners," Umerov noted.

As Ukrinform previously reported, Ukraine is beginning to export its own defense technologies to Europe. In 2026, 10 export centers will already be operational, and production of Ukrainian drones will be launched in Germany in mid-February.
