Nuclear power generation still partially unloaded after Russian massive attack, Ministry of Energy claims
After the massive attack on February 7, nuclear power units are still partially unloaded.
This was announced at a briefing by First Deputy Minister of Energy Artem Nekrasov, Ukrinform reports.
He noted that the aftermath of two massive attacks carried out by the Russians last week is still being dealt with.
“Energy workers are doing everything possible to restore equipment damaged by the enemy. Work is continuing at both power plants and high-voltage substations that supply power to nuclear power plants. Currently, nuclear power generation is still partially unloaded,” Nekrasov said.
As reported, on the night and morning of February 7, the Russians attacked energy facilities in eight regions of Ukraine.
First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal said that Russians hit substations and 750 kV and 330 kV overhead lines, which are the backbone of Ukraine's power grid, as well as the Burshtyn and Dobrotvir thermal power plants. The nuclear power plant units were unloaded by personnel.
