Kyiv receives 177 generators from EU
Kyiv has received 177 generators from the European Union.
According to Ukrinform, this was announced by Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko on Telegram.
“Kyiv has received the first batch of 177 generators from the European Union, including 135 units with a capacity of 20 kW and 42 units of 22 kW. The city plans to allocate them primarily for connection to individual heating points in residential buildings where possible,” Klitschko said.
The mayor noted that the generators were provided from the EU’s strategic civil protection reserve rescEU through the Emergency Response Coordination Centre (ERCC) under the Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (DG ECHO). Deliveries from the rescEU reserve are fully financed by the EU and coordinated by the European Commission.
“Tomorrow we expect the second batch – another 41 generators. In total, Kyiv will receive 218 generators from the EU,” Klitschko added.
As previously reported by Ukrinform, the Crisis and Support Centre of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France has already delivered the first 30 generators to Kyivteploenergo under the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.
