Almost all critical infrastructure electrified in Odesa — DTEK

In Odesa and the Odesa region, electricity supply has been restored to 184,500 customers, and nearly all critical infrastructure that was cut off due to the Russian attack on December 13 has been electrified.

This was reported on Facebook by DTEK Odesa Electric Grids, according to Ukrinform.

“Over the past day, we managed to restore electricity to almost all critical infrastructure facilities in Odesa and the region, as well as to another 84,800 households. In total, since the attack, 184,500,” the statement reads.

DTEK added that the damage to energy facilities is extremely complex, and restoration will require a significant amount of time.

As Deputy Minister of Energy Olha Yukhymchuk stated at a briefing, following the massive attack on 13 December, power engineers restored electricity supply to more than 184,000 consumers in the Odesa region, while more than 430,000 consumers remain without power.

“Over the weekend, power engineers managed to restore electricity supply to more than 184,000 consumers and critical infrastructure facilities in Odesa and the region — namely, water and heat supply. Currently, more than 430,000 customers in the region are without power. Restoration works are ongoing continuously,” Yukhymchuk said.

Additionally, in the Mykolaiv region, power engineers restored electricity to more than 345,000 customers.

Yukhymchuk noted that due to the consequences of previous shelling, power outage schedules continue to apply in some regions; however, overall, the situation has improved, with total electricity supply restrictions amounting to eight hours per day.

As reported, on December 13, Russian forces carried out a massive attack on the energy infrastructure of southern Ukraine. As a result, the Odesa region, the right bank of the Kherson region, and parts of the Mykolaiv region were left without power.
