Gas supplies from Greece will begin in January, says Zelensky

President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced that gas imports from Greece will begin in January next year.

The head of state made this announcement during a joint press conference with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis in Athens, according to a Ukrinform correspondent. 

“Gas supplies [from Greece ] will begin in January. And it is important that our first agreements will be implemented in the first quarter [of 2026],” Zelensky said.

He added that in addition to “agreements on the prompt supply of gas, there are also long-term agreements.”
