As part of the government’s UZ-3000 initiative, Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railways) anticipates that the program will help free up tickets for passengers during peak travel times.

This was stated by Ukrzaliznytsia Board Chairman Oleksandr Pertsovskyi in a comment to Ukrinform in Uzhhorod.

“We have peak and off-peak times for ticket sales. Under the UZ-3000 project, passengers will be able to purchase tickets for trains subsidized by the state through this program and travel in their desired direction. Thanks to this initiative, we expect that during peak months, seats will be freed up, allowing price-sensitive passengers to take advantage of the opportunity and book tickets,” he said.

Pertsovskyi added that the initiative will not apply to premium segments such as SV carriages.

“We’ll see how it performs in winter. The program will continue to be refined. But we expect it will make ticket access slightly easier during high-demand travel times,” he noted.

He also clarified that the UZ-3000 project will operate exclusively within Ukraine and will not apply to international train routes.

As previously reported, the social initiative Ukrzaliznytsia-3000 is scheduled to launch in December, with technical details currently being finalized.
