Ukrainian president, U.S. energy secretary discuss joint projects

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has met with U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright to discuss joint projects.

Zelensky said this in a post on Facebook seen by Ukrinform.

"During my meeting with Secretary of the U.S. Department of Energy Chris Wright, we discussed in detail energy capacities and potential projects for partnership in the energy sector," Zelensky said.

He spoke about Russia's strikes on Ukraine's energy system and the need to restore the affected facilities as quickly as possible. He expressed gratitude for the United States' readiness to provide everything necessary to ensure the continued functioning of the country's energy system.

"It is important for us to develop cooperation between Ukraine and the United States, particularly by expanding the presence of American businesses in Ukraine," Zelensky said.

Zelensky earlier met with representatives of the defense company Lockheed Martin.
