Ukrenergo: Electricity consumption remains high, hourly power outage schedules in place for Chernihiv region
As of the morning of October 14, electricity consumption in Ukraine remains at the same elevated level as the previous day. In the Chernihiv region, three phases of hourly power outage schedules are currently being implemented.
This was reported by NPC Ukrenergo on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.
“Electricity consumption remains high. As of 08:30 on October 14, it matched the level recorded at the same time on Monday. Persistent cloudy weather across most regions of Ukraine is reducing the efficiency of residential solar power systems,” the statement said.
Additionally, falling temperatures across Ukraine are placing extra strain on the power grid due to increased use of electric heaters ahead of the heating season.
Ukrenergo noted that, due to earlier Russian attacks, the Chernihiv region is currently operating under a three-stage schedule of hourly power outages. No electricity restrictions are in effect in other regions at this time.
“The need for responsible energy consumption remains in effect today. Please avoid using multiple high-power appliances simultaneously between 16:00 and 22:00,” Ukrenergo advised.
As previously reported, emergency power outages were introduced in several regions on the morning of October 13 due to damage to the energy system caused by Russian attacks.
