Emergency power outages introduced in Kyiv and nine regions – Ukrenergo
Following a large-scale Russian attack on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, emergency power outages have been implemented in several regions of the country.
According to Ukrinform, the National Power Company Ukrenergo made the announcement via Facebook.
“As a result of Russia’s massive missile and drone strike targeting energy facilities, a significant number of consumers have been left without power in Kyiv, as well as in the Kyiv, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Sumy, Poltava, and Odesa regions. To stabilize the power system, emergency outages have been applied in these areas,” the statement reads.
Ukrenergo emphasized that energy crews are working to restore stable electricity supply as quickly as possible. The emergency outages will be lifted once the situation in the power grid is stabilized.
As previously reported, on the night of October 10, Russian forces launched a large-scale drone and missile attack across Ukraine. Among the primary targets was thermal power generation infrastructure.
