Ukraine plans to issue licenses for UAV ammunition production

In cooperation with government agencies, the Ukrainian Digital Transformation Ministry is working to enable the issue of licenses for Ukrainian companies to produce unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) ammunition.

The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Education, Science and Technology Development - Digital Transformation Minister Mykhailo Fedorov in a commentary to Ukrinform.

“We are trying to focus as much as possible on the production of drones and ease the red tape procedures for manufacturers. We have started to work on a resolution that will allow companies to obtain licenses for the production of UAV ammunition. The market is starting to expand, the number of drones is growing. Thus, it is necessary to increase the amount of ammunition that they can use,” Fedorov told.

In his words, the team of the Digital Transformation Ministry is working on this issue together with the representatives of the Strategic Industries Ministry.

“The drone production market is growing exponentially. Now, we already have dozens of companies that are ready for contracting. It is necessary to continue promoting its maximum development. We expect that Government will endorse the relevant resolution in the coming weeks,” Fedorov noted.

A reminder that, over 11 months since the Army of Drones project was launched, a total of 3,864 unmanned aerial vehicles had been purchased, using the funding of the United24 platform.
