Ukraine shows interest in Utah’s experience of solar energy development

Ukraine is interested in the experience of the U.S. state of Utah regarding the development of solar power generation and the enhanced flexibility of the energy system.

The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian Energy Deputy Minister Yaroslav Demchenkov at a meeting with the representative delegation of the U.S. state of Utah, an Ukrinform correspondent reports, referring to the ministry’s Telegram channel.

“We are interested in the experience of the energy companies in the state of Utah regarding the development of renewable energy sources, namely solar power generation. The Ukrainian government has endorsed the Energy Strategy until 2050, and we will develop the areas that will allow us to achieve the climate neutrality goals and decentralize generation,” Demchenkov noted.

In the course of the meeting, the parties discussed the situation in Ukraine’s energy sector and measures intended to strengthen its resilience and recovery, preparations for the next heating season, and energy infrastructure demining efforts.
