Turkey was main supplier of fruits to Ukraine in 2022 – Institute of Agrarian Economics

Ukraine imported 220,000 tonnes of fruits from Turkey in 2022, the largest figure among other countries supplying these products.

That's according to Bohdan Dukhnytskyi, a senior researcher at the Department of Agricultural Production Economics and International Integration of the National Research Center "Institute of Agrarian Economics," Ukrinform reports with reference to the institute's press service.

He noted that Turkey had remained the main supplier of fruits and nuts to Ukraine for at least the last five years. In 2022, Turkey's share in the value of domestic fruit imports amounted to 30.7%.

In general, in 2022, imports of fruits and nuts to Ukraine amounted to $663 million, or 21% less than the 2021 figure of $835 million.

Ukrainian companies made significant purchases of fruits in Ecuador - 13.4%. Much smaller deliveries came from Greece (6.3%), Colombia (5%), Spain (4.7%), Costa Rica (4.6%) and Egypt (4.3%).

Together, these seven countries accounted for 69% of the value of imports of products of this group to Ukraine in 2022.
