Ukraine, Hong Kong to expand sales markets for Ukrainian agricultural products

Ukraine and Hong Kong will work to expand sales markets for Ukrainian agricultural products, in particular frozen pork and pork by-products, poultry fat and protein processed from it.

This was discussed during a meeting between Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Markiyan Dmytrasevych, acting head of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection Olha Shevchenko, and representatives of the Hong Kong Centre for Food Safety headed by Dr. Wong Wang, the Ministry's press service informs.

During the meeting, the parties discussed in detail the current state of sanitary and phytosanitary measures between Ukraine and Hong Kong, and further bilateral cooperation with the aim of expanding sales markets for Ukrainian products, particularly frozen pork and pork by-products, poultry fat and protein processed from it.

In addition, Hong Kong submitted additional questions to the questionnaire regarding the pork export from Ukraine to Hong Kong. Dmytrasevych said that the relevant materials will be sent to Hong Kong for consideration after they are considered by specialists of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection.

As reported, the Hong Kong market has been open to Ukrainian producers of poultry meat and poultry products, eggs, and egg products since 2018.
