The restoration of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure affected by Russian attacks will open up wide opportunities for deepening cooperation with Croatia.

The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushchenko during his meeting with Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia Andrej Plenković and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of the Republic of Croatia Davor Filipović in Zagreb, an Ukrinform correspondent reports, referring to the Ukrainian Energy Ministry.

In the course of the meeting, the parties discussed the process of rebuilding Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, which would be accompanied by the country’s integration into European energy markets and would open up wide opportunities for deepening its cooperation with Croatia.

Additionally, the parties considered the strengthening of energy security in the region. According to the Ukrainian side, it is important given the fact that Croatia began diversifying its energy supply sources long before Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

“We highly appreciate Croatia’s efforts to diversify energy supplies and build oil and gas pipeline infrastructure. We must continue to coordinate efforts to increase pressure on Russia and impose sanctions on the nuclear industry of the aggressor state,” Galushchenko concluded.
