PM Shmyhal: Five alienated enterprises to work 24/7 to meet defense needs

The enterprises, whose assets have been forcibly transferred into state ownership, should meet Ukraine’s defense needs, and some of them will restore the production capacities that have been lost.

The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal at a briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“These five enterprises are governed and must fully meet our country’s defense needs during martial law. These enterprises are strategically important, manufacture the goods critically needed to meet the needs of the defense sector and the Army, as well as the energy sector, which is also protected by the Armed Forces of Ukraine now. Such enterprises should work 24/7 to meet the defense needs of the state. We are talking of placing the economy on a wartime footing, and this is part of this strategy,” Shmyhal said.

In his words, nothing will change for the employees of such enterprises. Moreover, the number of orders will increase, and they will have more guarantees from the state regarding the production of goods.

A reminder that National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) Secretary Oleksiy Danilov stated earlier that the assets of five enterprises, namely Motor Sich, Zaporizhtransformator, AvtoKrAZ, Ukrnafta and Ukrtatnafta, had been placed under the management of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry.
