Galushchenko, Habeck discuss support from Germany for Ukraine’s energy sector

In a phone call, Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushchenko and German Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action Robert Habeck discussed support from Germany for Ukraine’s energy sector.

The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian Energy Ministry, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“The parties discussed the aftermath of Russia’s massive missile attacks on Ukraine’s energy facilities, progress in recovery works and the needs of Ukrainian energy companies for equipment and materials,” the report states.

According to Galushchenko, the equipment that Germany had provided to Ukraine is now helping Ukrainian power engineers to restore power supply services in the regions affected by the war.

Habeck noted that the German side is ready to continue providing support for Ukraine’s energy sector. In addition, Germany will promote intensified support from European countries to ensure that Ukrainians are provided with reliable power supply services this winter.

In addition, the parties paid attention to energy security issues and counteracting Russia’s energy blackmail. Galushchenko and Habeck discussed the current situation at Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, which is remaining Russian-occupied at the moment.
