Ukraine to transport vegetable oils to Poland through pipeline

Ukraine and Poland agreed to build a cross-border pipeline to transport Ukrainian vegetable oils to the port of Gdansk.

According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, the relevant memorandum was signed by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Republic of Poland, and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Development of the Republic of Poland.

It was agreed that Ukraine and Poland would soon set up a working group to develop technical specifications and terms for the construction of the pipeline and two terminals.

According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, before the start of the full-scale invasion, Ukrainian sunflower oil was delivered to 107 countries, with largest importers located in Europe (37%), Southeast Asia (29%) and Asia (14.9%).

As reported by Ukrinform, Ukraine exported 4.5 million tonnes of agricultural products in August 2022: 1.5 million tonnes through unblocked seaports and 3 million tonnes by rail, road transport and through Danube ports.
