Zaporizhzhia NPP’s power units remain disconnected from power grid – Energoatom

As of this morning, there have been no issues with the operation of equipment and safety systems at Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP).

The relevant statement was made by Energoatom National Nuclear Energy Generating Company of Ukraine on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

The plant’s own needs for power supply are now met through a repaired line running from Ukraine’s energy system.

Zaporizhzhia NPP’s power supply line running to Ukraine’s energy system has been also restored. Preparatory works are underway to connect two power units of Zaporizhzhia NPP to the power grid.

A reminder that, on August 25, 2022, due to fires in the ash dumps of Zaporizhzhia Thermal Power Plant (TPP), which is situated close to Zaporizhzhia NPP, the remaining fourth line connecting Zaporizhzhia NPP and Ukraine’s energy system was cut off. The other three lines were damaged by Russian projectiles earlier. As a result, Zaporizhzhia NPP had been fully disconnected from the power grid for the first time in its history.
