Ukraine, Mozambique leaders talk global food security

President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine has discussed with the President of the Republic of Mozambique, Filipe Nyusi, the issue of global food security

That’s according to Zelensky’s tweet, seen by Ukrinform.

"Held talks with Mozambique President #FilipeNyusi. Congratulated Mozambique on election to the UNSC. Thanked for solidarity with Ukraine. Informed about the situation on the front & resistance to RF's aggression. Discussed the issue of food security. We must overcome the food crisis caused by Russia,” the Ukrainian president tweeted on Wednesday, July 6.

As reported, the Russian Federation launched a full-scale war against Ukraine on February 24.

Due to the hostilities and blockade of Ukrainian seaports, more than 20 million tonnes of grain destined for export under the UN World Food Program remain stuck in Ukraine. A number of vulnerable nations, especially in Africa, are now facing the threat of famine.
