Ukraine receives EUR 44.5M loan from IBRD – Finance Ministry

Ukraine has received another tranche of EUR 44.5 million from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD).

This is said in a statement posted by the Finance Ministry's press service on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

"Ukraine has received another tranche of EUR 44.5 million from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) under the Loan Agreement ‘Additional Loan for the Second Economic Recovery Development Policy Loan." the statement says.

The Ministry of Finance notes that under the agreement, this loan is provided for budget support to ensure priority social expenditures, as well as healthcare expenditures.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the beginning of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops have been shelling and destroying key infrastructure facilities, conducting massive shelling of residential areas of Ukrainian cities and villages using artillery, multiple rocket launchers and ballistic missiles.
