Banks issued UAH 1.47B of loans under Affordable Mortgage program

Authorized banks have signed 1,723 loan agreements for a total sum of UAH 1.47 billion under the government program “Affordable Mortgage at 7%”, Ukrinform reports with reference to the Finance Ministry’s press service.

“As of February 17 of the current year, authorized banks signed 1,723 loan agreements worth UAH 1.472 billion under the government program ‘Affordable Mortgage at 7%’, both on the primary (19.9%) and secondary (80.1%) markets,” reads the report.

Overall, banks have received 2,364 loan applications worth UAH 2,033 million (20.6% on the primary market and 79.4% on the secondary market).

Twenty-five regions and the city of Kyiv have been involved in this program. Last week most active borrowers were registered in Kyiv region (31.66%), the city of Kyiv (27.86%), Lviv region (6.62%), Kharkiv region (5.51%), and Volyn region (3.75%).

As many as 22 authorized banks are participants in the program.

As reported by Ukrinform, the government program “Affordable Mortgage at 7%” was launched at the initiative of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on March 1, 2021.
