Ukraine has exported more than 33M tonnes of cereal crops

Since the beginning of the 2021/2022 marketing year, Ukraine has exported 33.527 thousand tonnes of cereal crops, showing an increase of 6.324 thousand tonnes compared to the same period in the previous marketing year.

As the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine informs, Ukraine has already exported: 16.110 thousand tonnes of wheat, 5.281 thousand tonnes of barley, 121.5 thousand tonnes of rye, and 11.772 thousand tonnes of corn.

In addition, Ukraine has exported 60.1 thousand tonnes of wheat and non-wheat flour, showing a decrease of 21.4 thousand tonnes compared to the same period in the previous marketing year.

According to the balance of supply and demand of cereals and legumes, the expected production may reach 83.8 million tonnes of all cereals. The need for domestic consumption is about 20 million tonnes, allowing for the export of about 65 million tonnes of cereals and legumes.

On July 5, 2021, the Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine and grain market participants for 2021/2022 MY to ensure food security and avoid the use of export restrictions, ensure the projected cereal export regime, and stabilize the grain market in Ukraine. marketing year.

As reported, Ukraine exported 44.628 million tonnes of cereals and legumes in 2020/2021 MY.

Ukraine saw an all-time high harvest in 2021 – 46 million tonnes of early grains alone. For the first time in its history, Ukraine harvested 33 million tonnes of wheat, up 26 percent compared to the previous year, exceeding the Agrarian Policy Ministry’s projections.
