PM Shmyhal: Ukraine–Austria trade and economic cooperation has significant potential

The development of trade and economic cooperation between Ukraine and Austria has great potential.

"Strengthening bilateral cooperation was discussed during an online meeting with Chancellor of Austria Alexander Schallenberg. The trade turnover between our countries has already reached almost $1.2 billion this year. I believe that Ukraine and Austria have a significant potential for the development of trade and economic cooperation," Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal posted on Telegram after an online meeting with Schallenberg on November 22.

The PM noted that he thanked the Austrian side for supporting the initiative to launch an annual joint business forum under the auspices of heads of government.

As reported, Prime Minister of Ukraine Shmyhal planned to hold a meeting with Federal Chancellor of Austria Schallenberg during his working visit to Vienna on Monday. But later, the Austrian Federal Chancellery announced that the visit of the Head of Government of Ukraine, scheduled for November 22, was postponed due to the tense COVID-19 situation.
