Infrastructure Ministry interested in implementing joint projects with United States – Kryklii

The Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine is interested in implementing joint infrastructure projects with U.S. companies, in particular in the field of railway transport.

Minister of Infrastructure Vladyslav Kryklii said this during an online meeting with representatives of the U.S. Wabtec Corporation, Ukrinform reports with reference to the ministry’s press service.

Kryklii stressed that the implementation of projects in the field of railway transport is one of the priorities of the Ukrainian government. "We are very interested in the development of cooperation with the American side, in particular in the renewal of rolling stock and the development of high-speed rail for the development of passenger traffic," said the minister.

He also welcomed Wabtec Corporation's interest in cooperating with Ukrzaliznytsia and thanked Ukrzaliznytsia for 30 locomotives that are currently operating at regional branches and providing freight.

"Further implementation of the locomotive fleet renewal project will be considered by Ukrzaliznytsia after the introduction of service maintenance, which will increase the productivity and technical readiness of these locomotives," said Kryklii.

The parties also discussed possible cooperation in the development of digitalization of the transport sector.

As reported, on April 16, Minister of Infrastructure Vladyslav Kryklii and U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg held an online meeting to discuss the importance of sustainable infrastructure development, including aviation, rail transport, electric mobility, cybersecurity and seaports.
