Ukraine’s egg production decreased by almost 14% - State Statistics Service

In January-March 2021, Ukraine’s production of eggs declined by 13.7%, to 3.24 billion eggs, according to the press service of the State Statistics Service.

In particular, Ukraine’s egg production amounted to 3.24 billion, including 1.86 billion eggs produced by agricultural enterprises (down 20.3% from last year) and 1.38 billion by private households (down 2.9%).

The highest amount of egg production over the reporting period was recorded in Kyiv region – 803.8 million eggs (down 0.8% from last year); Cherkasy region – 193.6 million (up 29.0%) and Dnipropetrovsk region – 183.3 million (up 0.1%).

The lowest amount of egg production over the reporting period was recorded in Luhansk region – 16.0 million eggs (down 1.8% from last year); Odesa region – 29.0 million (down 21.2%), and Mykolaiv region – 30.8 million (down 41.8%).

As reported, according to data provided by the State Statistics Service, Ukraine’s egg production totalled 3.76 billion eggs between January-March 2020, which is 0.1% less than in the same period last year.
