Ukraine, Brazil agree on cooperation in defense industry

First Deputy Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine Valeriy Ivashchenko and Deputy Defense Minister of Brazil Marcos Rosas Degaut Pontes have signed a memorandum of understanding.

Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister for Strategic Industries Oleh Urusky noted that he considers cooperation between Ukraine and Brazil as complementary, because both countries have something to offer each other.

“This will be a two-way road. Our countries are starting a new direction of cooperation, which has great prospects. We already have experience of cooperation, in particular, in the implementation of the international project "Cyclone-4". We got to know each other and realized that our cooperation is reaching a new level," Urusky said.

The Vice PM also expressed hope that cooperation with Brazilian counterparts in the defense industry will help load the domestic defense industry, which has suffered losses due to the global pandemic.

As Ukrinform reported, the first dialogue on the defense industry of Brazil and Ukraine began on December 1 as part of an official visit to Ukraine by a Brazilian delegation led by Deputy Defense Minister Marcos Rosas Degaut Pontes.
