PM Shmyhal meets with Turkish minister of industry and technology

As part of a working visit to the Republic of Turkey, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal met Minister of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Turkey Mustafa Varank.

"Ukraine attaches great importance to building relations with the Republic of Turkey and is ready to make efforts to fill it with certain content. It is pleasant to note the intensive fruitful and dynamic dialogue at the highest political level today. At the same time, it testifies our mutual commitment to develop mutually beneficial cooperation in all strategic areas," Shmyhal said, an Ukrinform correspondent in Turkey reports.

According to Shmyhal, today the two countries have great potential, in particular, in the aerospace, scientific and technical spheres, joint production, mining, as well as in the healthcare, scientific and cultural spheres.

"Cooperating in the defense industry and the aerospace sector, in order to effectively implement the agreements reached at the level of the Presidents of Ukraine and the Republic of Turkey, I propose to resume regular meetings of the joint Ukrainian-Turkish coordination group on strategic cooperation in the defense industry," he said.

Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank, in turn, praised the prospects of the current meeting: "We believe that our current meeting will be historic, because we now, as already noted, have a very favorable period in cooperation with Ukraine. We are committed to results and success”.

As reported by Ukrinform, Prime Minister Shmyhal arrived in Turkey for a two-day working visit on November 29.

The Ukrainian delegation also included Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister for Strategic Industries Oleh Urusky, Infrastructure Minister Vladyslav Kryklii, First Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Emine Dzheppar, Deputy Minister for Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture Taras Kachka.
