Ukrposhta, Digital Transformation Ministry, Infrastructure Ministry sign memorandum of cooperation

JSC Ukrposhta, Ukraine’s national postal operator, the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine and the Infrastructure Ministry of Ukraine have signed a trilateral memorandum of cooperation, according to the press service of Ukrposhta.

Under the memorandum, the areas of cooperation include introducing tools for reliable and convenient identification of customers of Ukrposhta through an integrated system of electronic identification, improving the quality and accessibility of administrative and postal services, improving Ukraine's position in the UN e-participation, as well as developing innovative technologies in the field of postal services.

"We have very ambitious goals - all public services can be obtained online, and digital analogues of documents are accepted throughout Ukraine, but to achieve them we need the support of partners," said Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.

Infrastructure Minister Vladyslav Kryklii noted that digital initiatives in the transport sector had yielded first results.

“Since December last year, when the transport portal of electronic services e-transport.gov.ua was launched, more than 7,000 carriers have applied for more than 450,000 permits for international transportation,” Kryklii said.

In turn, Ukrposhta Director General Ihor Smilianskyi said that one of the company’s priorities is the digitalization of the postal sector. He stressed that after decades of "technological stagnation", Ukrposhta have managed to begin historical changes.
