Ukraine already spent almost UAH 1 bln to fight coronavirus spread

From March 20 to April 4, the Ukrainian government spent UAH 952 million for the purchase of goods needed to prevent the coronavirus spread, according to the Economy Ministry.

"From March 20 to April 4, government agencies purchased goods worth UAH 952 million to prevent the coronavirus spread," reads the statement.

Among the top purchased medical products were: medical equipment, ventilators, pulse oximeters, patient monitors, etc. (UAH 190.15 million); medical supplies, including gloves, protective masks, respirators, protective suits, etc. (UAH 147.12 million); anesthesia and resuscitation equipment, including oxygen concentrators and other (UAH 116.04 million).

As reported, the Ukrainian government on March 29 simplified the procurement of goods, works and services needed to fight the COVID-19 coronavirus.

Ukraine had 1,668 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases, including 52 deaths as of 09:00 on April 8.
