Groysman: Process of issuing special permits for subsoil use must be available to public

The process of reviewing applications submitted by companies for obtaining special permits for subsoil use in Ukraine must be made public and accessible to everyone, Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman has stated.

“A separate issue is the openness of such structure as the State Agency of Geology and Subsoil. Those decisions approved on January 1, 2019 will contribute to openness and competitiveness in this area. We opened geology data that were previously unavailable,” Groysman said at the 10th International Anniversary Ukrainian Energy Forum in Kyiv, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

According to him, the State Agency of Geology and Subsoil intends to make applications for subsoil use public and open to everyone.

“Everyone should understand how the process of reviewing these applications takes place, what decisions are made,” Groysman added.

He also stressed that the task of Ukraine is to achieve energy independence.
