Ukrainian Halal certificate fully recognized in Malaysia

The Ukrainian Halal certificate is now fully recognized in Malaysia.

“Ukraine's Halal Certificate is now fully recognized in Malaysia. As Ukraine-Malaysia bilateral trade has been growing for the third consecutive year and now approaching USD 400 million, it's a great and long-awaited news for the Ukrainian exporters,” the Embassy of Ukraine to Malaysia posted on Facebook.

As specified on the Embassy’s website, the Ukrainian LLC Certification Center “Halal” has been approved by the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) as one of the recognized foreign Halal certification in Ukraine. Recognition shall be effective for two years starting from 22 January 2019 until 22 January 2021.

“The Department of Islamic Development Malaysia JAKIM’s recognition programme for international Halal bodies is the most stringent and sought-after bilateral halal system recognition programme in the world with over 50 international bodies registered to date. JAKIM’s recognition creates new opportunities for the Ukrainian exporters,” reads the statement.

Halal refers to what is permissible or lawful in traditional Islamic law. It is frequently applied to permissible food and drinks.
