Ukraine’s economy sees growth eight quarters in a row – State Statistics

Ukraine’s economy has shown positive dynamics of development over the last eight quarters, the government’s press service reports.

"According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, Ukraine’s real GDP in the fourth quarter of the last year grew by 0.4% from the third quarter. The figures were provided considering the seasonal factor," reads the report.

Also, the State Statistics added that the growth totaled 1.8% compared with the fourth quarter of 2016,

Ukraine’s foreign trade growth figures also confirmed the positive dynamics. Thus, in 2017, Ukraine’s exports grew by 19% - up to $43.3 billion. Moreover, exports directly to the EU countries grew by one third.

At the same time, Ukraine’s imports increased by 26.4%. Foreign trade operations were carried out with 223 countries. The volume of exports to the EU countries made up 40.5% of total exports, the State Statistics Service informed.
