Ukraine raised over $4 bln in direct investments from 77 countries last year – State Statistics Service

Ukraine raised USD 4.4 billion in foreign direct investments (stock capital) in 2016 compared to USD 3.7 billion in 2015. Investments came to Ukraine from 77 world countries.

This is reported by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

"The major investors, accounting for nearly 70% of total investment income, are the Russian Federation – USD 1.6 billion, Cyprus – USD 4.2 million, the UK – USD 4.03 million, the Netherlands – USD 2.5 million, and Austria – USD 2.4 million," the report says.

The EU countries invested USD 1.9 billion in Ukraine's economy, i.e. almost 45% of total investments.
