OSCE SMM records almost 950 ceasefire violations over four days

Between the evenings of January 5 and 9, the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine recorded 152 ceasefire violations in Donetsk region and 791 ceasefire violations in Luhansk region.

“In Donetsk region, between the evenings of January 5 and 9, the SMM recorded 152 ceasefire violations, including 38 undetermined explosions,” reads the OSCE SMM daily report issued on January 10.

The majority of ceasefire violations occurred in areas east of Talakivka (government-controlled, 90km south of Donetsk) and north of Shyrokyne (government-controlled, 100km south of Donetsk).

In Luhansk region, over the same period, the SMM recorded 791 ceasefire violations, including 213 explosions (45 impacts, two airbursts and 166 undetermined).

Almost all ceasefire violations occurred in areas close to the disengagement area near Zolote (government-controlled, 60km west of Luhansk), with 544 heard around midday on January 9.
