DM Fedorov, Diehl Defence CEO discuss boosting Ukraine’s air defense capabilities
Minister of Defense of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov and Diehl Defence CEO Helmut Rauch held talks on concrete ways to reinforce Ukraine’s air defense capabilities.
Fedorov reported this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.
Among the topics discussed was increasing and accelerating the delivery of missiles for IRIS-T systems.
“These solutions have already proven effective in combat conditions and are an important part of a multi-layered air defense system,” Fedorov noted.
The parties also focused on the development of missile projects for F-16 fighter jets and the possibility of testing new solutions in Ukraine. Separately, they discussed the supply of extended-range munitions with support from the European Union, as well as the development of radar systems and anti-ballistic defense capabilities.
Fedorov thanked Diehl Defence for the solutions provided and their readiness to expand cooperation.
“This is systematic work that strengthens the protection of Ukraine’s skies and enhances Europe’s security,” he emphasized.
As reported earlier, during his visit to the Netherlands, President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine is facing a significant shortage of anti-ballistic missiles.
