Militants violated ceasefire in eastern Ukraine 19 times in last day

Militants launched 19 attacks on Ukrainian positions in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area in eastern Ukraine over the past day.

“Russian-occupation troops violated ceasefire regime 19 times, using heavy weapons twice,” the press center of the JFO Headquarters reports.

In Luhansk direction, the enemy used 82mm mortars, IFV weapons, grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and automatic grenade launcher to fire at Ukrainian positions near Krymske (42.5km north-west of Luhansk) and Prychepylivka (50km north-west of Luhansk).

In Svitlodarsk direction, positions of the Joint Forces came under fire of anti-tank grenade launchers and large-caliber machine guns. As a result of shelling, two Ukrainian servicemen were injured.

In Horlivka direction, Russian-backed militants shelled Ukrainian positions outside Zaitseve (67km north-north-east of Donetsk) and Pivdenne (40km north-east of Donetsk), using automatic and hand-held anti-tank grenade launchers, large-caliber machine guns and small arms. One saboteur died after an explosive device blew up, six more were wounded. At the same time, as a result of the enemy's active actions, two Ukrainian servicemen were injured.

In Donetsk direction, terrorists opened fire from grenade launchers and small arms at Ukrainian positions near Avdiivka (18km north of Donetsk), Nevelske (18km north-west of Donetsk) and Novomykhailivka (28km south-west of Donetsk).

In Mariupol direction, the tense situation was observed in the area of Talakivka (20km north-west of Mariupol), Pavlopol (30 km northeast of Mariupol), Lebedynske (16km north-east of Mariupol), Shyrokyne (20km east of Mariupol), where the enemy opened fire from 120-mm mortars and hand-held anti-tank grenade launchers.
