Militants launched 43 attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas in last day

Russian-backed militants launched 43 attacks on positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) area in Donbas over the past day.

In Donetsk direction, terrorists fired 82mm mortars on Ukrainian positions near Opytne (11.5km north-west of Donetsk) and Kamyanka (62km south of Donetsk), grenade launchers – outside Vodiane (16km north-west of Donetsk), Avdiivka (18km north of Donetsk), Kamyanka, Marinka (35 km south-west of Donetsk), Pavlopol (30 km northeast of Mariupol), Lebedynske (16km north-east of Mariupol) and Bohdanivka (41km south-west of Donetsk), heavy machine guns – near Nevelske (18km north-west of Donetsk), Avdiivka, Marinka, Pavlopol and Butovka coal mine (11.4km north-west of Donetsk), weapons on infantry combat vehicles – in the area of Talakivka (20km north-west of Mariupol), Bohdanivka  and Kamyanka. Defenders of Avdiivka came under sniper fire. Illegal armed formations also used small arms to shell ATO troops in Kamyanka, Opytne, Butovka coal mine, Lebedynske, Pavlopol, Talakivka and Vodiane (16km north-west of Donetsk).

In Luhansk direction, Russian-occupation troops used 82mm and 120mm mortars, weapons on infantry combat vehicles, grenade launchers and heavy machine guns to fire at ATO strongholds outside Troitske (69km west of Luhansk). Militants also opened fire from 82mm mortars near Krymske (42.5km north-west of Luhansk), grenade launchers and small arms – outside Zaitseve (67km north-north-east of Donetsk), heavy machine guns – near Svitlodarsk (55km north-west of Donetsk).

One Ukrainian soldier was wounded in enemy shelling.
