Militants launch 61 attacks on ATO troops in eastern Ukraine

Russian-backed militants launched 61 attacks on positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Donbas over the past day.

The tensest situation was observed in Mariupol area, where the Ukrainian servicemen came under 122 mm artillery fire in Pavlopol (30 km northeast of Mariupol), Marinka (35 km south-west of Donetsk), Krasnohorivka (29 km west of Donetsk). The terrorists used mortars and grenade launchers to fire at Vodiane (16km north-west of Donetsk) and Novotroitske (32km south of Donetsk). ATO troops in Shyrokyne (20km east of Mariupol) came under fire from machine guns of large caliber.

In Donetsk area, Russian-backed militants slammed two dozen heavy artillery shells into Luhanske (59km north-east of Donetsk) and Mayorske (45km north of Donetsk).
