Militants launch 38 attacks on ATO troops in eastern Ukraine

Russian-backed militants launched 38 attacks on positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Donbas over the past day.

This is reported by the ATO Headquarters press center.

Since 02:00, the enemy has resumed shelling of residential districts in settlements near Donetsk.

"In Donetsk area, militants used 120mm and 82mm mortars and grenade launchers to fire at positions of Ukrainian soldiers in Avdiyivka [18km north of Donetsk] and Mayorske [45km north of Donetsk]. In Zaitseve [67km north-north-east of Donetsk], the enemy violated the Minsk agreements, having opened fire from the banned heavy artillery," the report reads.

In Mariupol area, the tense situation was observed in two front lines: Krasnohorivka (29 km west of Donetsk) – Marinka (35 km south-west of Donetsk) and Hnutove (19km north-west of Mariupol) – Shyrokyne (20km east of Mariupol), where the enemy was actively using mortars and machine guns to shell Ukrainian troops.
