Militants launch 94 attacks on ATO troops in eastern Ukraine

Russian-backed militants launched 94 attacks on the positions of the Armed Forces in Ukraine in Donbas over the past day.

The majority of attacks was launched in Donetsk direction. Militants used 152mm artillery, prohibited by the Minsk agreements, to shell Ukrainian strongholds in Novhorodske (34km north of Donetsk). Ukrainian servicemen also came under 120mm mortar fire near Mayorske (45km north of Donetsk), Pisky (12km north-west of Donetsk), Avdiyivka (18km north of Donetsk), Novhorodske  and Troitske (69km west of Luhansk).

In Mariupol direction, 120mm mortars were used to fire at Ukrainian strongholds in Vodiane (16km north-west of Donetsk) and Marinka (35 km south-west of Donetsk). Militants also used 82mm mortars to launch attacks near Shyrokyne (20km east of Mariupol), Krasnohorivka (29 km west of Donetsk), Hnutove (19km north-west of Mariupol) and Marinka.
