Two foreigners wanted internationally detained in Kyiv

Officers from the Criminal Investigation Department of the National Police of Ukraine located and detained two more foreigners who were wanted internationally via an Interpol alert.

According to Ukrinform, the National Police reported this.

One of the detainees is a 58-year-old Uzbek citizen. He was on an international wanted list for suspected fraud on an especially large scale. The suspect was placed on the wanted list for arrest and subsequent extradition. Interpol published the corresponding Red Notice in April of this year.

Ukrainian law enforcement officers detained the suspect in the Desnianskyi district of Kyiv. The man was taken to a local police station for the necessary procedural actions.

The second detainee is a 30-year-old Turkish citizen. He was wanted internationally on suspicion of unlawful deprivation of liberty. The suspect was detained in the Solomianskyi district of Kyiv.

Both suspects are believed to have committed crimes in their home countries.

The procedures required by law regarding the further consideration of the detainees’ extradition are currently underway.
