Shooting incident occurs in Desnianskyi District of Kyiv

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting in Kyiv’s Desnianskyi District.

According to the National Police of Ukraine, officers preliminarily established that a local resident fired two shots during a conflict with acquaintances before barricading himself inside an apartment. No injuries were reported.

Police officers and special forces units were deployed to the scene, and negotiations with the shooter were underway.

Later, police updated the information, stating that the suspect had been detained and investigative actions were ongoing. Authorities are currently determining the legal qualification of the incident.

As Ukrinform previously reported, Kyiv police recently detained a 43-year-old woman suspected of opening fire in the courtyard of a residential building, injuring a man.
