Appeals court tightens preventive measures against Zaporizhzhia city council official suspected of embezzling UAH 8.6M
The Zaporizhzhia Court of Appeals replaced the nighttime house arrest for Vitalii Lysenko, acting director of the City Council's Department of Education, who is suspected of embezzling more than UAH 8.6 million, with detention.

It is noted that the Court of Appeal decided to change the decision of the Voznesensk District Court of Zaporizhzhia, applying detention to the acting director of the Department of Education until October 19 with the possibility of bail in the amount of 3 million 20 thousand hryvnias.
Thus, the prosecutors' request for bail in the amount of 8 million 655 thousand 610 hryvnias 43 kopecks was partially granted.
As reported, the Voznesensk District Court of Zaporizhzhia decided not to remove from office the first deputy acting director of the Department of Education and Science of the City Council, Vitalii Lysenko, who is suspected of embezzling over UAH 8.6 million.
Earlier, the Zaporizhzhia Regional Prosecutor's Office reported the exposure of nine officials of state authorities, local self-government bodies, and heads of municipal enterprises and business entities whose actions are related to abuse of office, embezzlement of budget funds, and other corruption offenses. Among them was the first deputy director of one of the departments of the Zaporizhzhia City Council, who is suspected of embezzling more than UAH 8.6 million in budget funds during the purchase of uninterruptible power supply systems for educational institutions.
The court imposed a preventive measure in the form of night-time house arrest.
